Please consider child organ donation
| It
won't ever happen to me. |
|
" I used
to think almost nothing about organ transplantation. It didn't involve
me..."
"Then our
beautiful daughter, Amber Rose, died when she was eight months old
after receiving a liver transplant. Unfortunately, liver donors
are extremely rare -- by the time she got her transplant her body
had deteriorated too far and she died three days later."
"Imagine
how you would feel if your baby could be saved, but no one wanted
to give up organs that were no longer needed. " --Terry Sicard.

Lost...
Waiting For us
|
| It
did happen to me. |
|
"I became
ill January 1984... After spending a month in the hospital and slowly
going into end stage renal failure, I began a long process of dialysis.
My mother donated a kidney to me February 26, 1986."
"My body
rejected my new kidney after 6.5 years, and I was again maintained
on dialysis. My second transplant, a perfect match, was done at
Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA May 6, 1994."
"today,
I am 29 years old, alive, healthy and very happy." --Amy Nicholson.

A Life Saved

He
made it happen. |

Note: Seven
year old Nicholas Green of Bodega Bay, CA, was a cub scout traveling
with his family on a trip to Italy in September 1994 when he was
shot and killed by car bandits.
"Nicholas
hated to see others unhappy and wanted to help anybody in trouble.
He loved tales of valor and honor. Nicholas' Final Gift is keeping
seven people alive in Italy, all of whom now have a chance to lead
a full life. The resulting dramatic increase in organ donations
in Italy has been called the Nicholas Effect." -- Maggie and
