Ashley and Will lie in a hospital bed.
Clutching their crayons of blue,
green, and red,
For they can now only draw pictures
of hope.
Of fun times in sunshine, and angels
that float.
And though their world has stopped
turning, the days roll on by.
As all of their loved ones keep
wondering why.
Chorus:
This little girl ~ fighting the
world, with her eyes open wide.
Should be in pearls with all her
curls, as she plays dress up bride.
This little boy ~ with little joy in
his daily routine.
Should have a toy ~ be making noise
on a big trampoline.
So the gift of life is the greatest
to give,
To all the children waiting to live
Ashley is seventh, and Will ’s number
eight.
Such are the names on the list where
they wait.
And everyone’s praying they’ll keep
holding on.
And that God has some angels He’s
calling upon.
And as they worry and wonder how will
they survive,
Will one of His angels help keep them
alive.
(Repeat Chorus)
Bridge:
Though some live among us, and some
are with God,
With this gift so precious… they all
can live on……
